English, Economics, American & World History, Political Science/American Government, Geography, Journal, Theater, Film Studies, Philosophy, and Humanities.
I worked in show business for over fifteen years as an actor, director, producer, casting director, and talent agent. I left that field to return to school and received a double B.A. with High Honors in English and Philosophy at the University of California, Riverside. I then pursued a double M.A. in Philosophy and Theatre at the University of New Mexico with the intention of teaching at the community college level. However, I was recruited to manage the West Coast Region of Books Are Fun. I hired, trained, and taught independent sales reps to grow their territory, open accounts, and control their inventory of books. After leaving BAF, I returned to graduate school (National University) and received an MA in English and Film.
I have taught Forensic Science/CSI and Personal Finance/Economics at Proximity Learning, remote and online; Economics and World History at American Leadership Academy, remote and online; Economics, Political Science, and American & World History at Valley Union H.S. in Elfrida AZ; English, Economics, American & World History, Political Science/American Government, Geography, Journalism/Yearbook, and Drama at Tombstone High School and English, Film, Philosophy; and Humanities at Cochise College as Associate Faculty. I have also worked with high-risk students at Tombstone High and spearheaded, implemented, and taught an after-school program for students who failed their freshman English classes.
Teaching is something that I have come to love, and I take pride in teaching students to think critically—not indoctrinating them or brainwashing them. Creative, independent thinking is of the utmost importance for our children, our way of life, and our future.
