Hello, My name is Jeanette Jordan Montalvo. PhD, Edu I was born and raised in New York City. After high school, I joined the United States Army. After 20 years of service I retired with two deployments to Iraq and Kuwait. While I was in the Army I was attending colleges. I Graduated in 2005 with my BA in Christian Counseling, 2015 with my MS in Education with a minor in ESOL English as a second language,and 2021 with my PhD in Education Curriculum and development. During my deployment in Kuwait I taught myself how to paint to handle the stress and anxiety of war. I put my hands to work and with the help of youtube I began to teach myself how to paint with acrylic paints. One day a CSM (command sergeant major) came by and loved what I painted and asked me if it was for sale. I said,”yes”. My first sale was for $250 fro an acrylic painting of the beach with palm trees.After that the word got out and sold 20 more paintings. I came back to the United States and I was advised to have an art gallery show. I didn't feel that I was ready for that , but thank God for friends. I had my art Gallery in 2016 In Brooksville, FL. over one hundred people came and I sold 300 of my paintings.I took a life change break. I stopped painting. My last time teaching was at Purdue University Polytechnic High School in South Bend, IN 2020-2021. I taught Spanish, English and Art. I retired from teaching and started using my art skills again. This time I opened my own business called Creations of The Heart Art. Where I am successfully selling custom made clocks, frames and coasters. Art has now become my passion where I get to create with my hands until I can’t use my hand anymore. You can take me out of the school, but my passion to teach is always in me still. So here I am, enjoying my passion again teaching this time Art.
