My teaching philosophy is simple: listen to, learn with, and guide through. More concretely, I have learned in over 15 years of teaching, tutoring, coaching, and more that when we ground our approach in what the students and families need, ask for, and hope, we are more likely to select more relevant curricular materials and implement encouraging instructional techniques. This is what I do and have done as a special educator, ESL teacher, EF coach, IB Librarian, and college prep and test prep coach. Be the content academic skills, academic content, executive functioning skills, testing skills, or self-regulation, the goal is the same: hear what is wanted, determine what is available, and access what is needed.
